Santana had appeared poised for activation from the 10-day injured list ahead of Monday's game against the Rangers, but his status is now up in the air. Once the team assesses the state of Lawlar's wrist, they can determine which baseball activities he can ramp up. An earlier report indicated he was doing as much baseball activity as possible without using the right wrist. A ramp up could involve getting a bat in his hands and taking swings. Lawlar is scheduled to return in early June.

Smith underwent surgery April 16 to remove loose bodies from his left elbow. He's currently on the 60-day injured list and can return May 29 at the earliest.

Brigham, 32, collected a 5.26 ERA and 42:18 K:BB over 37.2 frames with the Mets last season. He'd thrown 2.2 innings and allowed one run with four strikeouts at St. Paul before the injury. He was expected to add depth at Triple-A, but it looks like he won't be an option for several weeks or more.

It's a rare day off for Marte, who had made 12 consecutive starts. Ildemaro Vargas will cover second base Friday, while Jose Fernandez will play first base and Adrian Del Castillo will slot in at designated hitter.

Pinto has been sidelined since late May with an undisclosed injury, though he appears to be nearing a return. He may get a chance in the majors immediately, as Francisco Mejia (knee) exited Thursday's game against the Orioles and could be forced to miss time.

Susac made his second rehab appearance in as many days, logging multiple hits in both contests. MIller was cleared to pitch in a rehab game less than a week after landing on the 15-day injured list with a lower-back strain, putting him on pace to return Saturday when first eligible. Before getting injured, Miller was receiving some save chances as part of an unsettled Giants bullpen.

Bader, who began experiencing hamstring tightness less than a week before Opening Day, was placed on the 10-day injured list in mid-April due to a left hamstring strain. He made his first rehab appearance Tuesday and recorded a single before being lifted in the sixth inning. The veteran outfielder is eligible to be reinstated from the injured list, though he'll likely require additional time to ramp up depending on how his hamstring responds following Tuesday's outing. In the meantime, Drew Gilbert will likely continue to see increased playing time for San Francisco.

Birdsong was diagnosed with a sprained UCL in mid-March and elected to go under the knife. The right-hander will miss the entirety of the 2026 campaign and likely at least the first couple months of 2027.

Oliva remains without an official timeline to rejoin the Giants after undergoing surgery just under two weeks ago to address a left hamate bone fracture, but his move to the 60-day IL ensures that he'll remain on the shelf through mid-June. The 30-year-old outfielder went just 1-for-7 at the dish in seven games with the Giants prior to landing on the IL and may not be guaranteed a big-league roster spot once he's activated.

Butto has already been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery Saturday to repair an artery in his arm, so moving to 60-day IL has no impact on his timeline. He'll cede his spot on the 40-man roster to Eric Haase, who was selected from Triple-A Sacramento to replace Daniel Susac (elbow) on the active roster.

Webb experienced discomfort in his right knee during his most recent start (Tuesday versus San Diego), and the star hurler has subsequently been diagnosed with bursitis. He'll need to miss at least a few turns through the rotation as a result, and Trevor McDonald was called up from the minors to take Webb's spot in San Francisco's rotation. Pavlovic notes that Webb has dealt with the knee issue previously and adds that the Giants expect their ace to be ready to return when eligible.

The southpaw will be sidelined until June after suffering a right hip flexor strain earlier this month. Once healthy, Sanmartin is not a given to return to the active roster with the big club.
