Donovan landed on the 10-day injured list Monday after missing Seattle's previous two matchup due to the left groin injury. "It doesn't seem like it's going to be a longer-term situation," said manager Dan Wilson. "But again, we just kind of have to assess it as we go." Wilson also mentioned that Donovan's groin injury seems to be related to a sports hernia, which required surgery last October and forced him to miss the last month of the 2025 while with St. Louis. "This is just something that we're going to take as cautiously as we can. It's early and we want to give him the best chance to get back and be 100%," noted Wilson. An official timetable for Donovan's return should come into focus after he starts to make progress in his rehab.

After recording just five outs on 33 pitches in his first rehab appearance with Triple-A Tacoma on April 18, Miller moved down a couple levels for his second minor-league start and delivered a much more efficient performance. During Friday's outing, he spotted 35 of his 47 pitches for strikes and induced eight swings and misses while sporting a fastball that sat between 96 and 98 miles per hour. Per MLB.com, Miller is tentatively trending toward a return from the 15-day injured list May 17, which suggests he'll need three more rehab starts prior to being activated. The right-hander has been on the shelf all season while recovering from a left oblique strain.

The transaction will clear a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Connor Joe. Vargas has been out all season while recuperating from a right lat strain and now is not eligible to return until late May. It's not clear whether Vargas has resumed throwing or remains shut down.

Evans missed several weeks during the second half of last season with right elbow inflammation, so it's possible he had UCL damage for a while that was only recently discovered. He will miss the entire 2026 season and, given the timing of the procedure, could get a late start to the 2027 campaign, as well. Evans had been likely to open the upcoming season at Triple-A Tacoma, but his absence is a blow to the Mariners' pitching depth. The 24-year-old posted a 4.32 ERA and 59:31 K:BB over 81.1 innings covering 15 starts and one relief outing last season.

Mastrobuoni had been in the midst of a rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma and appeared to be on the cusp of a return from the 10-day IL, but his move to the 60-day IL likely indicates that he suffered some sort of setback over the weekend. As a result of the transaction, Mastrobuoni now won't be eligible to make his 2026 debut with the Mariners until the final week of May, though an exact timeline for his activation is unclear. The utility player initially suffered the right calf strain in March while playing for Team Italy in the World Baseball Classic.

Wisdom may have picked up the injury during his last outing Tuesday against the Padres, when he struck out in his lone plate appearance. Wisdom is eligible to be activated from the IL in late April, though oblique injuries tend to take more time to recover from. Rob Refsnyder (personal) was activated from the Mariners' paternity list in a corresponding move.

The 28-year-old landed on the shelf last week due to a right pectoral strain, and the Mariners are building him back up slowly since it's an injury to his throwing arm. Robles will be eligible to be reinstated Friday but seems likely to require a longer stint on the IL.

This explains why Naylor was left out of Sunday's starting lineup against the Cardinals. It's unclear at this point if Naylor is at risk of missing additional time or if he's available off the bench Sunday. Connor Joe is starting at first base in the series finale in his stead.

Sousa was cleared to begin a rehab assignment April 11 and has since made three appearances in the minors, posting a 9:1 K:BB across 3.2 shutout innings. The 31-year-old lefty will presumably take on a high-leverage role after posting a 2.84 ERA in 50.2 innings last season, and he could be in the mix for saves while Josh Hader (biceps) is on the IL.

Bolton landed on the 15-day injured list last week with mid-back inflammation. He is eligible for activation April 28 and has a good chance to be back by that date, given that he's already been cleared to face hitters.

Javier's initial placement on the 15-day IL was retroactive to April 9, so his move to the 60-day IL ensures that he'll be on the shelf through at least the first week of June while he recovers from a Grade 2 right shoulder strain. Given the length of his absence along with his poor numbers prior to landing on the shelf (12.54 ERA, 2.36 WHIP and 4:9 K:BB in 9.1 innings over three starts), Javier likely won't be worth holding in the majority of fantasy leagues.

It's a significant step in Brown's rehab from a shoulder strain. Sidelined since throwing six innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts against the Red Sox on March 31, Brown is expected to be sidelined through late May, according to GM Dana Brown. Once he builds his arm back up, Brown will likely require a multi-start rehab assignment.

Meyers checked his swing on a Michael Lorenzen pitch but tweaked something in the process. He will likely be sent for an MRI to gain more clarity on the injury. Should Meyers have to miss time, Joey Loperfido and Brice Matthews are candidates for more playing time in center field.

It appears to be the first time Pena was cleared to run since he landed on the 10-day injured list a week ago with a Grade 1 right hamstring strain. Pena is eligible to return Friday, but it's possible the Astros will ask him to go out on a rehab assignment before being activated. Carlos Correa has been the team's primary shortstop since Pena went down, with Isaac Paredes handling third base.

Loperfido is with the team in Cleveland for its brief three-game road trip, which is a good omen for his prospects of a quick return. He will be eligible for activation from the 10-day injured list April 28.

Allen was originally in Saturday's lineup but ultimately was unable to take the field. Original reports suggested he was available for Saturday's game, though it appears that likely wasn't the case. The severity of the issue is not clear.

Imai landed on the IL due to right arm fatigue April 13. Imaging came back clean, and the Japanese hurler has been building up his workload since, including by tossing 45 pitches in a bullpen session Friday. Imai will now progress to game action with Corpus Christi and appears to be on track to rejoin the Astros in the first half of May.

Trammell suffered a left groin injury while running the bases Monday, and it sounds as though he'll require a trip to the injured list. An official move should come at some point Tuesday. Dustin Harris and Brice Matthews could see more time in center field while Trammell is sidelined.

Dezenzo sustained a sprained elbow while playing for Team Italy in the World Baseball Classic last month. The 25-year-old appeared in 34 games for the Astros last season, slashing .245/.321/.367 with two homers, 10 RBI, 17 runs scored, one stolen base and an 11:37 BB:K across 109 plate appearances.
