Injury Report
- Clayton BeeterIRExpected return: May 15
Beeter was placed on the 15-day injured list a little over a week ago because of right forearm soreness. An MRI came back negative, and Beeter has taken a big step forward with his rehab with the resumption of mound work. It's unlikely he will be ready to return when eligible May 8, but it shouldn't be long after that. Beeter has essentially been co-closer with Gus Varland this season and should return to that role once he's deemed physically ready.
- Cole HenryIRExpected return: May 11
Saturday marks the first time Henry has done any sort of throwing since he landed on the injured list Monday with a right rotator cuff strain. He said afterward that he felt good while throwing and remains optimistic that his stay on the injured list will be brief.
- Josiah GrayIRExpected return: May 29
It's the first bit of throwing the right-hander has done since he was diagnosed with a right flexor strain in late March. He will be brought along slowly in his rehab before being evaluated for a potential return to the Nationals' rotation.
- Ken WaldichukIRExpected return: Jun 1
The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Richard Lovelady. Waldichuk is likely headed for Tommy John surgery, though he will receive a second opinion before a final decision is made.
- CJ StubbsDay-to-dayExpected return: May 9
Stubbs made his major-league debut in 2025 with the Nationals, going hitless in three plate appearances. The 29-year-old will merely be organizational catching depth for the Blue Jays at Triple-A Buffalo.
- Luis Garcia Jr.Day-to-dayExpected return: May 9
It's a fourth straight absence for Garcia due to a minor right wrist/hand sprain. A trip to the injured list hasn't been viewed as necessary to this point, but that may change soon if the 25-year-old misses much more time. Curtis Mead is picking up another start at first base for the Nationals.
- Dylan DoddIRExpected return: May 8
Dodd has been on the 15-day injured list since April 23 while recovering from left thoracic spine inflammation, but southpaw now appears to be nearing a return to action. Dodd has made two appearances with Atlanta this season, giving up one run on three hits and a walk while striking out four batters over four innings.
- Joey WentzIRExpected return: Feb 1
The transaction clears a 40-man roster spot for waiver pick Osvaldo Bido. Wentz will miss the entire 2026 campaign after undergoing surgery earlier this month to repair a torn ACL in his right knee.
- Ronald Acuna Jr.IRExpected return: May 13
The 28-year-old outfielder was placed on the injured list earlier Sunday after sustaining the injury during Saturday's 9-1 win over the Rockies, but he appears to have avoided a more serious setback than Atlanta had feared. Acuna is without an official timeline for his return, but the encouraging diagnosis could mean that his absence isn't a lengthy one.
- Jorge MateoDay-to-dayExpected return: May 8
The injury looks to be minor, but it was enough that Atlanta felt compelled to call up Jim Jarvis from Triple-A Gwinnett to make his MLB debut at shortstop Wednesday. Atlanta is idle Thursday, so Mateo will receive at least a couple days of rest. Mateo had started six straight games before being left out of the lineup Wednesday.
