The journeyman lefty will slot back into the Boston bullpen after landing on the IL back on May 4 with cervical spasms. Coulombe has since made a couple rehab appearances, one with Double-A Portland and one with Triple-A Worcester. He has posted a 5.63 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and three holds in eight innings spanning 12 appearances with the big club this season.

This will be Crochet's first live batting practice session since landing on the injured list. He threw another side session Saturday. If Tuesday's session goes well, the Red Sox could send Crochet on a rehab assignment.

Oviedo has been shut down over the past month after being diagnosed with a right flexor strain in early April. The Red Sox will determine the next steps for Oviedo's rehab based on what comes out of the upcoming exam with Dr. Meister.

The Red Sox listed the injury as a right wrist sprain when they placed Anthony on the 10-day injured list earlier this month, but the injury is evidently more focused on the youngster's finger. Regardless of the injury specifics, Anthony remains shut down from baseball activities after he felt lingering soreness when he tried swinging a bat Monday. A timetable for his return won't come into focus until he's able to ramp things up without discomfort.

Story was placed on the 10-day injured list last weekend and was seeking medical opinions for his hernia. He's opted for surgery and will miss far more than the minimum 10 days as a result. Andruw Monasterio and Isiah Kiner-Falefa have been handling shortstop duties in Story's absence this week, but the longer absence could prompt the Red Sox to shift Marcelo Mayer back to his original position. In 41 games this season, Story has slashed an unimpressive .206/.244/.303 with three home runs, 19 RBI, 16 runs scored, four stolen bases and an 8:57 BB:K across 176 plate appearances.

A bruised foot caused Burdi to land on the injured list June 3, but a hip injury suffered at Worcester caused him to move to the 60-day IL. He'll now come off the IL following a minimum-length stay, though the Red Sox will keep him in the minors for the time being. The 32-year-old has thrown 5.1 shutout innings for Boston this season and sports a 1.23 ERA through 22 Triple-A frames.

Pallette will step away from the Guardians for a few days in order to be with his growing family. Codi Heuer was called up from Triple-A Columbus to round out Cleveland's bullpen.
