Injury Report
- Angel ChivilliIRExpected return: May 8
Acquired from the Rockies in a trade over the offseason, Chivilli has spun 8.1 scoreless innings with a 9:2 K:BB in the early going at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He's taking the roster spot vacated by Yerry De Los Santos, who was sent down to SWB after Tuesday's loss to the Angels.
- Gerrit ColeIRExpected return: May 6
Cole was able to limit the damage in his second rehab outing, throwing 42 of his 52 total pitches for strikes. The right-hander is expected to require multiple more starts to build up his workload before making his return to the major-league roster, and it's unclear where his next stop will be on his minor-league rehab assignment.
- Giancarlo StantonDay-to-dayExpected return: Apr 26
Tightness in Stanton's right calf caused him to make an early exit from Friday's contest, and the Yankees will give him a day off Saturday to recover. Amed Rosario will serve as New York's designated hitter and bat sixth.
- Scott EffrossDay-to-dayExpected return: Apr 25
Effross suffered a left oblique strain in early March and is finally ready to throw off the mound again. The sidearming reliever has struggled from a health and results perspective in recent years but will give the Tigers some experienced bullpen depth at Triple-A Toledo once he's healthy.
- Ryan WeatherspaternityExpected return: Apr 25
Weathers was firing on all cylinders Sunday, rebounding in a big way after serving up four home runs to the Angels his last time out. The left-hander recorded his first scoreless start of the season, and he's now fanned at least seven in four of his first five outings. Weathers will be looking to build off his strong start to 2026 in his next scheduled appearance versus Houston, as he's produced a 3.18 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 36:8 K:BB over 28.1 frames so far.
- Akil BaddooIRExpected return: Jun 1
Baddoo suffered a quadriceps strain in mid-March that was more significant than initially expected, and it will sideline him for at least the first two months of the regular season. Even once healthy, the 27-year-old won't be guaranteed to be added to the big-league roster.
- Andrew VaughnIRExpected return: May 12
Vaughn was cleared to begin swinging a bat earlier in the week, and he has now started to hit for the first time since undergoing surgery in late March to address a fractured hamate bone. He's slated to visit a doctor Tuesday, at which point he could be cleared to begin a rehab assignment and remain on track for an early-to-mid-May return.
- Christian YelichIRExpected return: May 12
Yelich landed on the 10-day injured list earlier Tuesday with a left adductor strain, and it appears he's looking at a 4-to-6 week absence. It's a significant loss for the Brewers and for fantasy managers that used a top-100 pick on Yelich this spring. Gary Sanchez is in line for the bulk of the reps at designated hitter for now while Yelich is out, though Andrew Vaughn (hand) and Jake Bauers could share first base and DH once Vaughn is healthy.
- Jackson ChourioIRExpected return: May 1
It will be the first time Chourio has hit on the field since he landed on the 10-day injured list before the season following left hamate bone surgery. Chourio should be cleared for a rehab assignment soon if he continues to progress, and the goal remains for the outfielder to rejoin the Brewers' active roster in early May.
- Jared KoenigIRExpected return: May 3
Abner Uribe was deployed against the heart of the Angels' order in the eighth inning, leaving Koenig to pick up the save in the ninth. This was Koenig's seventh straight scoreless outing, and he's posted a 14:1 K:BB while earning two saves and a hold in that span. He's done a decent job when called upon this year, posting a 3.10 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 64:20 K:BB with two saves and 26 holds over 61 innings this season.
- Rob ZastryznyIRExpected return: May 25
The 34-year-old lefty sustained the injury during his rehab assignment over the weekend while working his way back from a shoulder strain. Zastryzny will be sidelined for at least a couple more weeks as he contends with the new injury.
